Valerie Pratt
DVM
Dr. Valerie Pratt got her first cat when she was eight and from there on was hooked on being a veterinarian. She attended Michigan State University for undergrad and Veterinary School, including externships in Exotic Animal Medicine and Raptor Medicine. She has been practicing in Southeastern Michigan for over twenty-five years. Areas of special interest include surgery, small mammal and avian medicine. She has earned the Low Stress Handling Silver Certification in an effort to make veterinary visits more enjoyable for the patient. At home she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and two cats, (Minion and Merlyn) In her free time she is actively involved in scouting, enjoys backpacking and volunteers for Michigan Avian Experience helping injured Raptors.

Stacey, Lead LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Stacey earned an associates degree in applied science from WCCC Veterinary Technician School in 2002. Having developed a passion for animals at a young age, she has since accumulated over 25 years of experience in the veterinary field. A resident of the downriver area, Stacey shares her home with her husband, two sons, and a variety of pets, including dogs Lucy and Chief, cat Piper, snake Slim Jim and two guinea pigs named Snickers and Potato. In her free time, Stacey prioritizes family, friendship, and outdoor activities like kayaking, fishing, and visiting the family cottage.
Angie, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Angie joined the AVCG in 2025 brining with her 10+ years of vet-med experience. She has a BS in biology that she obtained from BGSU in 2015 and her LVT from Penn Foster in 2023. She also became a certified sonographer in 2025! She started her vet-med journey with wild life rehab in 2013 and transitioned to general practice in 2018. Since then, she has honed her surgical skill through years of hands-on experience and schooling. She has a special love for cats and exotic pets, and, in her downtime she enjoys concerts and reading with her 3 cats, Kya, Rucker and Mercury on her lap.

Veterinary Assistant
Treasure is a recent UOM graduate, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with aspirations of being accepted into Vet School to become a Veterinarian. While she is new to working in vet med, she has always dreamed of working with animals and looks forward to learning from Dr. Pratt and her fellow team members. She is enthusiastic about her future and is eager and willing to provide the best care possible to our patients.
Kaylee
Receptionist
While Kaylee is new to Vet Med she comes to AVCG with 15+ years of customer service experience. Kaylee has always had a love for animals and decided to explore that passion in her professional life; coming to AVCG in December of 2024. Kaylee has 1 dog, Scarlett, two cats, Tux & Gemma and most importantly her two sons at home. Kaylee looks forward to providing the best possible care to our clients and helping to guide them through the scheduling process and recovery journey.
